On Thursday, I stayed after class with a few other people who were interested in learning more from Andy. One of the more interesting things he showed us was Grokker. This program maps out search results and groups them by common categories. Professor Gibson could somehow use Grokker to grade our Weblogs by looking at the size of the radius of the results for looking at our class' blogosphere.
Programs that can arrange search results visually can prove to be more useful than ones that show results in a linear fashion. Grokker also lets you search your hardrive. Once you produce a map of your liking, you save the visual map locally and use it as a reference later on.
